you know what, let's make a mistake. adjusting her grip so that her palm folds along the curve of merrill's neck before leaning in. she's slow about it, almost careful, giving her ample time to push her away before pressing their lips together in a chaste kiss.

then as she's pulling away, lingering close enough that merrill can feel her breath against her skin. )

[of course Merrill leans into it, her eyes closing as their lips meet, rising up on her toes so Hawke doesn't have to bend down so far. she lets out a soft "oh" when Hawke thanks her, and slowly opens her eyes]

[she trails off like she's going to say something more, but just--doesn't. she's a little light-headed at the moment, perhaps]
